FALL SERVICE TRIP IN ROANOKE
THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE OUR 2009 FALL SERVICE EXPERIENCE A HUGE SUCESS! As service is a pillar of Newman, one of our main events for this semester was a Day of Service in Roanoke. Some 110 studnets joined us for this event that encompassed two parts; a Fall Service Retreat on Friday October 16th and a Service Day in Roanoke on October 17th. Please check out all of our newly added pictures from the retreat and the day of service under our "Community" tab. Also, check out the coverage of the event from the Roanoke Times and WSLS Roanoke.
SERVICE IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY

Newman is committed to service in a variety of ways. Some events that are ongoing in our own local community are collecting food weekly food pantry donations, visiting the elderly at a local nursing home, visiting the juvenile detention center as well as working with various community outreaches such as the YMCA.
ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK
Newman is committed to serving our brothers and sisters all over the world. This year during our 2010 Alternative Spring Break program we will be returning to the communities where we served last year. This include a trip to Mexico, Haiti, Chicago, IL and Flint, MI. Pictures of our students from previous trips can be found in the "Community" section. We are also working on adding a new trip this year to Mississippi.
Be sure to check out the following link from ABC 10 in Flint, MI about our work with their community.
